Why Education Is Haiti's Greatest Hope — And How You Can Help
In a nation where only 1 in 2 children completes primary school, every classroom we keep open is an act of resistance against poverty.
Through faith-rooted education, theological training, and daily meals, La Paix Foundation builds a future for Haiti's most vulnerable children and equips the next generation of leaders.
Rooted in the ministry of Eglise Evangelique de la Paix, La Paix Foundation grew from a heartfelt conviction: that the love of God must be demonstrated — not just proclaimed.
Founded by Pastor Elysee Joseph and his wife Yolette Joseph, and now led by Chairwoman Loudrige Simon, we operate in the heart of Cap-Haïtien with boots firmly on the ground. We run a theological institute, a community school for over 120 children, and a center that feeds, shelters, and mentors the most vulnerable among us.
In a Haiti battered by crisis after crisis — earthquakes, political upheaval, food insecurity — we choose to stay. Because hope does not leave.
Every initiative we run answers a specific, urgent need on the ground in Cap-Haïtien — and every one of them needs your support to keep going.
Theology
Institut Théologique de la Grâce (ITG) equips pastors, preachers, and lay leaders through a rigorous 3-year Bible education program. Four graduating classes have already returned to their communities to serve.

Community
Our campus is a hub of hope — offering youth programs, community gatherings, outreach services, and spiritual support for the entire neighborhood. A safe place in an unsafe world.
See how it works"Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause."
— Isaiah 1:17
While many organizations work from afar, our team lives this every day — preparing hundreds of plates of food, opening classrooms when gangs close roads, and training a new generation of Haitian pastors to lead their communities through crisis.
Over 50,000 meals served. Children who would have grown up on the streets are now reading, writing, and learning the Word of God. Pastors who came to us with a calling are now planting churches across Northern Haiti.
This is your work too — when you give.

"Every time I visited Cap-Haïtien, I was struck by the children who couldn't afford school, just hanging outside all day. That broke my heart. That's why this school had to exist."
"In Haiti, where a good education often determines whether a child escapes poverty, our school is more than a classroom. It is a door to a different future — one built on God's Word and human dignity."
"We have weathered earthquakes, hurricanes, political crises, and a pandemic. Yet every school year, these children come back. Their resilience is the proof that this work must continue."
In a nation where only 1 in 2 children completes primary school, every classroom we keep open is an act of resistance against poverty.
A hungry child cannot learn. That truth drives our daily meals program — and it's one of the most direct ways you can make an impact.
The local church is the hope of the world — and our theological institute is raising the men and women to lead it.
Whether you travel to Cap-Haïtien for a week, support us from home, or partner with your church or organization — there is a place for you in this mission.
